Earlier this year, the 2013-2014 Mid Atlantic Cabinet Applications were released under our newly elected officials. In June, many students from our chapter applied to be on Cabinet, and this past week, the final decisions were released. Despite competing against numerous candidates (this year, there were more than twice as many applicants as available positions), I am excited to announce that South Brunswick as a chapter has eight students serving across the Mid Atlantic State and New Jersey Region.
Seniors:
Najum Junaid, Director of Debate, NJR
Sarika Pawar, Director of Fundraising, MAS
Chelsea Richardson, Director of Debate, MAS
Priyanka Toddywala, Director of Logistics, MAS
Juniors:
Abhishek Dutta, NJR Star Editor in Chief, NJR
Amrita Mojumdar, Director of Public Relations, MAS
Sophomores:
Shruty Shrestha, Chapter Internal Affairs Agent, NJR
Hasin Tasneem, Chapter Internal Affairs Agent, NJR
What is Cabinet/NJR/MAS?
Cabinet is led by elected officials for the Mid Atlantic State (elected during Spring State each year). They are...
Cristian Vides, Plainfield High School, MAS Governor
Allison Berger, Kent Place School, MAS Lieutenant Governor
Alex Kaunzinger, Biotechnology High School, NJR Mayor
Angela Taylor, South Jersey Homeschool, NJR Vice Mayor
Being on Cabinet essentially means you are working under one of these officials for the following JSA year to successfully plan, organize, and basically work on everything JSA related. Of course, each position has their own tasks.
The MAS stands for Mid Atlantic State, which is our state and one of the ten states that creates JSA.
The NJR stands for New Jersey Region, which our region, and one of the regions that forms the MAS.
Fun Facts About Cabinet...
Because I've completely forgotten to say it during this post, on behalf of the Executive Board, Congratulations to everyone selected to be on cabinet. It is an absolute honor, and absolutely well deserved. SBJSA is proud to have such committed, passionate, and hardworking JSAers representing us in cabinet and we expect to see great things from these individuals throughout the year. Again, congratulations and good luck!
